Brandon* Greenwood, Vice-President KISD wrote a letter to Kingsville Record. Pause. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 Back from pause.
Thank you Brandon* Greenwood for taking a moment of your time to reach out to the community. Well done. I have NEVER seen a board member write a Letter to Editor. It’s usually done in a story. So thanks!
By you taking a small moment of your life after election to write to the public makes residents feel that you are obtainable, and care.
I wrote to someone this morning about KISD and the possible need to reach out to other districts that have turned themselves around. Dr. Zendejas, a newly former Superintendent of Brownsville ISD helped bring BISD to what it is today, besides the melowdramatics on the sidelines.
Superintendent can only do so much. I am sure Bera is working tirelessly and hard for KISD.
I agree and disagree that KISD board members should not focus on gossip and rumors. If it is a rumor, it needs to be addressed and publically known. If it is gossip, maybe there is a reason for it? Maybe KISD need to be more transparent and obtainable. I mean, do the KISD emails even work? How do your constituents get ahold of you? How do your constituents know what goes on at the board meetings if there are no public minutes? The weekly paper?
Communication with the public is low. There was a concern from a parent on social media and I called 8 different people about it and I got 8 different answers and still dont know. I have to go to a meeting later this month to find out what is real and what is a lie that is if the answers are even given. I posted a thread on a social group page and it was never approved. Probably because I was calling out people and some people don’t like the truth. So, sorry to say Greenwood, there is gossip for a reason. It shouldn’t be this difficult.
I think a public meeting/forum is in need. Set up a Q&A at H.M.King in an auditorium or gym at a time after school to have with parents and one with teachers.
That is right, I am calling KISD out for a public/open forum meeting with the public where a back-and-forth conversation can be had! Any takers? Bera does them. Please use a better outlet than the newspaper to notify parents.
Otherwise, I commend Greenwood for putting that letter out there. Kingsville needs more of that. I know Greenwood cares, because he shows it. He comes to board meetings energized, happy, and passionate. He has a “presence.”
