The Board of Trustees Should Censure 2 Board Members!

Here it is everyone. Here is a photo of where I keep all my Open Records Requests for Public Information and my grievances against the District. I want to let everyone know that I record all important conversations. I take pictures of anything of value. I also keep all of my paperwork and have it copied and signed if at all possible. You should do the same. Parents and administration should document and record anything that has to do with your children, job or anything you feel should be brought up. Of course, I am telling this to you so that you can protect yourself, but in the end none of the hard work of documentation really matters. It falls of deaf ears. No one at the district could care. They will sweep your problems under a rug. They will blame it on parents and tell the parents that they need to come up with a solution (Garza Sr. mocked me and told me to start a parent crossing guard safety group for the schools). They will put you off for so long that you give up. Some (or Prado) will message or text you or even call you up and yell and curse at you over the phone. Worst of all they will retaliate against you till you back down (defiantly a Prado thing as well). Even if a third of my grievances hold any weight, they should all be taken seriously.

Even if you don’t file a grievance and try to go to a board meeting and in public participation you may be thrown off the podium (Yes, Andre Ortiz, you haven’t been the only one to be thrown out of something at a board meeting. Welcome to the club.) Sometimes you may go up to talk and the lawyer will interrupt saying this-or-that when it should be the PRESIDENT that does that. If they don’t like what you say in open session, they may call your job’s HR department and tell them all about the horrible things you did by using your 1st amendment right in hopes your job will fire you. Oh, yes, they (employee at KISD) did that. I am sure certain board member(s) got one of their goons to do the job for them so they don’t get their hands dirty.

This is what your board members have been up to. This is why I have filed grievances. I want to be transparent with everyone. I also wanted to keep these to myself just so I can find out how the district has handled them. Well, they haven’t handled them. So here it is everyone. I am a horrible person for pointing out bad behavior on the board and by the district.

In order. If anyone has had the following happen to them, please let me know. This will help my grievance if I ever get a hearing.

Sept. 2019 - Abuse of Power by Nick Prado. Bera admitted during a board meeting, after recommending Nick’s wife, Norma Prado, for a promotion that she was coerced into putting her name up for a vote after Brandon Greenwood asked her. This is not a nepotism grievance. This is a grievance that a board member has had no issue with recommending his wife to a superintendent for a promotion. Prado had already gone around town two weeks prior saying his wife was going to get the promotion. After this happened Bera’s name was on every single agenda for conversation in executive session. Then she left.

April 2020 – First Amendment violation against Nick Prado. For deleting my comments on his Facebook page. I know some of you are reading, “well it is his page.” Yes, it is his page, but once he acts under the color of a public servant or his position the page is no longer privately his. When a person acts or posts messages on Facebook to the community as their position, they cannot violate the communities’ first amendment right. If he posts as a board member, he opens himself for any type of comment (within reason and certain provisions) from the public. He just deletes mine and blocks me. Trump was sued for this same issue and he lost. Everyone should have access to his personal page if he acts in his board of trustee capacity. This goes for any elected official. I didn’t even comment anything rude. I typed something along the lines of, “that’s nice” and then it got deleted.

April 2020 – First Amendment violation against Corando Garza Sr. I couldn’t comment on his page if I wanted to. He has me blocked or it is on a privacy setting that I cannot see his messages about KISD he posts for the public to read. This falls under the same violation that Prado committed except he has prevented me from possibly seeing information about KISD he shares with the public, but not me. I am still the public. He cannot pick and choose who he wants to see these messages. The only reason why I know about them is because people sent me screen shots. I should have the same access as everyone else. I did send a friends request, twice, to no avail in response. I'd be surprised he is even running his Facebook page himself. He cannot return emails or pick up a phone after finding him in the phone book.

May 2020 – 3 board members used KISD resources to give the community their personal Senior signs out. I am not saying that they cannot give signs out to the public or it is a bad thing, but they ended up using KISD resources to help distribute them. Some have said it looks like a campaign tactic and they were using it as an excuse. They did not invite any of the other board members or the superintendent to help with those sings. That is why it may have looked that way. Either way they had KISD help hand them out as personal favor.

June 2020 – Grievance against Nick Prado for going around telling whomever he wanted personal business of an applicant and an employee of the district. It is not the board’s place to talk negatively about an employee behind their back. It could have cost that person their livelihood.

June 2020 – Grievance against Corando Garza Sr. for talking negatively about an employee(s) of the district on a social media page on Facebook. Again, very similar to the above Nick Prado grievance. Twinsies! He called an employee(s) of the district “incompetent.” Lovely. If he felt that way, he needed to tell someone else other than the general public. No way he can have an excuse for this one!

June 2020 – I have a grievance out because the district is withholding public information after I requested open records months ago. The request was asking for the number of grievances filed against all board members for a certain amount of years. I also asked for the grievances filed against Nick Prado, because I am for certain there are some against him and wanted to know the amount of grievances and the cause of. It would not surprise me if the people who filed grievances have been retaliated against since and I am sure no one has taken care of them. They are probably in the same boat as me. They may have rescinded them since as well.

Board members need to enforce their own policy on themselves.

On April 29th, I was emailed by the superintendent that my grievances will be scheduled within the next 60 days. Since Sept 19th (7 months prior) I have been waiting on this hearing. What day is it now? July 6th. Nearly 10 months later. Understanding that COVID has caused a riff in them, it shouldn’t have taken this long to begin with. Meanwhile, certain board members went running a muck causing problems and doing things they shouldn’t be doing in their position. I ought to blame Brian Coufal and his lack of due-diligence to have them heard. How tight do the three amigos have on him to put them off for so long? Why the neglect? Is it because he voted in favor to hire Prado’s wife? Who knows. Hopefully as Brandon Greenwood as president, my grievances will finally be heard.

The board should censure the board members. I don’t think the board has the guts to do that.

I even got an email from the District’s attorney on May 20th that they are working with the District in scheduling my grievance and will provide notice of date as soon as possible. It didn’t say grievanceS. How am I supposed to know which one they are talking about? I replied to their email and asked which one they are talking about and I never did get a reply.

Like I said before. If you want a grievance to be heard, hire a lawyer. My lawyer would have had paperwork sent within the week, slamming them. I didn’t want to hire a lawyer for any of them. I wanted the public to get a glimpse into how the District and the board handle business.

To this day, 7/6/2020 6:15, I have not filed a grievance against an employee of the district. Within the hour that may change.

I also have 4 open records requests out that have not been fulfilled. They kept going around in circles on the ORR I asked for pertaining to Cory Garza Jr., Prado and Corando Garza Sr.’s electronic communication during board meetings. I have an ORR to find out how much I have cost the district on the above grievances. They will use COVID as an excuse not to give it to me. Anything to not hand it over.

I won’t stop saying it like it is. There are people in the community out to get me. They will try whatever they can, even trying to take food off my children’s plates, to get me to go away. Not happening. If anyone hasn't noticed, I haven't jumped on that bandwagon...
