Touche!

I was at the meet and greet brunch with the Superintendent the end of last month.

Amazingly many people showed up and listened and ate and left. Many of these people were business owners with no kids that go to KISD. I invited the Mayor but the City Manager showed up. He left in a hurry as well.

Board members Crites and Greenwood were present again. Prado and Garza Sr. and Jr. were present this time. Missing Miss. Yaklin.

More parents showed up and concerned citizens, which was awesome! So, thanks!

I just want to point out that I tried to go around and shake the board members hands and tell them thanks for finally showing up. Crites and Greenwood excluded, but I thanked them for coming again anyway.

I asked Garza Sr. if he recieved my email (about putting transparency online for public to view). He replied, “uhhh, uhhh.” Then Bera butted in and stated, “I emailed that to you last week.” (Cause she is on it!) Garza Sr. still had a confused look on his face and turned to me and stated, “I haven’t used email in 14 years. But, you can find me in the phone book.” I replied, “Oh, well, I haven’t used a phone book in 14 years.” That ended that conversation abruptly! Touche! Do you not use an email? Find me in the phone book? Ok, but you won’t like it.

I will call you at 2am in the morning. I had a friend that worked for the city and he had constituents calling him at 2am. You know what he did? He got the answer his constituent was looking for and called his constituent back at 2am to give him back a response. If I were a board memeber, I’d happily take that phone call at 2am! You know email is so much easier and it leaves a “paper” trail. But, what do I know.... Makes me wonder if you don’t like paper trails because maybe later you may have to own up to something you said...hmmm...

I have included a pic of “Meet the Members” on the Board link on KISD. No phone number. But a link to an email. Whenever I try emailing him it comes back as “unsuccsessful.”

I think I will call him after my massage today....

I called the visitor’s center in Kingsville and a nice lady found a residential phone book from last year (the one that I have is business from Corpus) and she found Garza Sr.’s phone number. I called it, of course. No answer. And his mail box is full. Not only does he not use email, he doesn’t use the delete button on his voice messages so that people can leave messages.

So, yea, Garza Sr., you made it sound so easy, yet here I am. Going to try again later. It is 3:48pm now. You think he will call back his missed call or does he have one of those old flip phones with no caller id?
